Many people have a good idea of what they are looking for, but for those who are more uncertain about their situation and daunted by the great variety of therapies and therapists on offer, here are a few ideas. One is to talk to someone who you feel comfortable with and who you also feel might have had a good experience with therapy themselves. They are quite likely to be sympathetic and interested without being too intrusive, and are often pleased to point you in the right direction. If that is not an option for you, then we can offer a 15 minute chat with an experienced therapist vie our ‘arrange a call‘ button. Or you can choose a therapist whose profile seems sympathetic and interesting to you and arrange a consultation directly with them.

Each therapist sets their own fees which are either visible on their profile or can be discussed in the first consultation.

Therapy is a very individual and personal process, depending on needs and starting point. Unless there is a very specific issue or there is only a limited timeframe available it tends to be open-ended. This frame gives you and the therapist the time to gradually get to know more about what it is you are having to deal with, whilst being supportive at the same time..

If you are facing an immediate crisis, and you feel you can’t wait for a phone or in-person assessment, there are organisations you can get in touch such as Samaritans or West London Mental Health Trust.
