Holly Gellatley is a psychotherapist working in private practice from Hammersmith Therapy in West London

Introduction

Do you have a sense that something in your life is not quite right?  Perhaps you’re stuck in some way, overwhelmed by anxiety or low mood, or struggling with familiar patterns in your relationships or family life. Therapy can offer a space to reflect and begin to explore what may be going on. I aim to provide a warm and safe environment, where I welcome, listen and support all my clients without judgement.

Central to my work is building a trusting relationship, working alongside my clients offering a calm and confidential space, so that together we can examine your concerns and try to bring about any changes you may wish to make.  I believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling and meaningful life, and it is through this process of gaining greater insight and clarity that my clients can experience more positive thoughts and healthier relationships.

How I work

I am a fully qualified Humanistic Integrative Therapist and registered member of the BACP, working in private practice.  My approach is psychodynamic with a focus on understanding how earlier life experiences and relationships, perhaps outside awareness, are impacting one’s adult world today.

I’ve worked with adults of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, having practised with The Awareness Centre, Headstrong Counselling, and the trauma-informed charity Trauma Recovery CIC.

Today, in private practice, I work with a wide range of issues, such as: Relationships, Family difficulties, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Bereavement and loss, Self-esteem, Stress, Illness, Life transitions, Pregnancy, childbirth and parenting, Adoption and Neurodiversity, for example.

I am currently training in Couples and Relationship Therapy working towards COSRT accreditation.

Background

Prior to counselling, I studied Social Anthropology and Journalism.  I worked as a Broadcast Journalist in news and current affairs at both the BBC and LBC for many years and later as a TEFL teacher in a charity for immigrants and refugees.
